# Managed databases with `aral`

aral db engines # postgres 16..13, mysql 8, redis 8/7, mongodb 8, qdrant, nats, influxdb, neo4j
aral db create --name mydb --engine postgres --version 16 --plan dev --region hel1
aral db get <id> # poll: provisioning -> configuring -> ready (takes minutes)
    aral db list

The `get`/create response carries the connection details (host, port, user,
password) — the password is shown while the DB exists; store it.

aral db backup <id> # start a backup now
    aral db backups <id>
    aral db restore <id> --at <RFC3339> # point-in-time
aral db add-replica <id> # streaming read replica
aral db promote <replica-id> # replica -> standalone primary
aral db resize <id> --plan small
aral db delete <id> # also removes a replica

Plans: dev|small|medium|large. Each database is its own VM; `delete` tears the
VM down too.
